God’s Solution--The Plan of Salvation 1. “ The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom. 6:23) A “Gift” is unearned, undeserved, not owed, awarded out of Love. 2. The Cost – “God so loved the world that he gave his only Begotten son”   (John 3:16) Lev. 17:11 – “it is the blood that maketh atonement (at one with God)   For the Soul.” Hebrews 9:22 – “without shedding of Blood is no remission.” “God commendeth (showed) His love toward us in that Christ died for us.”  (Rom. 5:8) 3. Jesus paid the price we could never pay. 1 John 2:2 – “He is the propitiation (payment) for our sins.”                       GOD    CHRIST     man 1 Peter 2:24 – “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree. (Cross) 4. Why the blood of Christ? A: The blood of animals could not take away sins (Heb.10:4,5) B: The blood of a sinful, guilty person cannot pay the price of another’s sins. (Ex. If two murderers are condemned to die, one cannot die in the place of the other. Both are guilty, both condemned, both must pay, both must die.)
