Can a person once saved fall from Grace?

1. Warnings against falling are numerous

1 Cor. 10:12 – “let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall”
Gal. 5:1-4  -  “be not entangled again…whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from Grace.”
Heb. 3:12 – “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the
living God.”
Heb. 3:14 – “For we are made partakers of Christ, If we hold…steadfast unto the end.”
Heb. 6:4-6  -  “For it is impossible..if they shall fall away, to renew them again.”
Heb. 10:26 -  “ If we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth.”
Heb. 10:38 – “if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
James 5:19 – “Brethren if any of you do err from the truth..”
11 Peter 1:10 – “if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.”
11 Peter 2:20-22 – “For if after they have escaped they are again entangled therein, and over come, the latter end
is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way than to turn…the dog is turned to its own vomit
again.”
11 Peter 3:17 – “ Beware lest ye…fall from your own steadfastness.”

2. Examples of those who did.

A:  Annanias and Sapphira  (Acts 5:1-11), both Christians; were destroyed by God for lying and trying to the
deceive the Church.

B:  Simon the Sorcerer  (Acts 8:13-23) “believed and was baptized’ (thus saved, Mark 16:16) yet returned to the
“bond of iniquity” because he tried to buy the gift of the Holy Spirit with money.
