| Our Themes for March A.M. – Hope – Possessing a Positive Mind P.M. – Doors of Opportunity Our gospel meeting with Brother McWilliams is now history. He presented the wonderful “Words of Life” in a simple, direct fashion. May we take what we have learned from the teaching of God’s word and use it in our lives every day. Thank you so much for your attendance and your kind attention to the good news of Jesus Christ. Thank you also for inviting your family, friends, and neighbors to be with us. We had several visitors at every meeting. April is just around the corner. That means that our annual Senior Rally is on the horizon scheduled for April 26th here at St. Andrews Road. Cindi and I will be traveling to Sanford, North Carolina, for the 64th Annual Carolina Lectures on April 7th-9th. Cindi will be speaking to the ladies. I will be speaking to the men. If you would like to make the trip with us for a couple of nights, let us know. It would be great to make a trip like this with friends. Our Men’s and Preachers’ Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Road. Brad Fry from Long Creek will be presenting our program. The theme for this month’s meeting will be “Building and Maintaining Healthy Leader Relationships in the Church.” He has e-mailed several questions on this subject and asked for our input. Please make plans to be here for this special program for men. This month (March) it will be my pleasure to share with you four lessons from the book of Philippians on “HOPE – Possessing a Positive Mind” and four lessons on “The Doors of OPPORTUNITY.” This Sunday we will focus our attention on Philippians, chapter 1 as we strive to possess a positive mind in our lives every day. A SINGLE MIND is invaluable when it comes to being positive in spite of our circumstances. James tells us that “a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8). On Sunday evening we will knock on “Door of Opportunity #1 - Cooperation of a Friend.” Few people are successful at things unless a lot of people want them to be. Jesus and His apostles worked together to spread the gospel. We’ll list the qualifications of a true friend. Next Wednesday night we will begin a new study in the auditorium adult Bible class. We will take a look at RESTORATION. Key texts that we will be using are 1 Kings 18; Psalm 23; Luke 8; 15; Galatians 6:1. Restoring Membership Restoring Sacrificial Giving Restoring Evangelism Restoring Broken Fellowship Restoring Personal Growth Restoring True Worship Restoring Sacrificial Living Restoring Brotherly Love Please understand just how important it is gather together with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to study God’s word. Do you remember how Jesus overcame the temptations in His life? At every point of temptation, He used the “sword of the Spirit,” the word of God, to win the victory. In order to be able to wield the “sword” effectively, we must study His word and put into practice what we hear and learn. Bible class teachers at St. Andrews Road: We love you and appreciate all the time and effort you put into every lesson you teach. Children, teens, and adults sit at your feet every Sunday and Wednesday to learn from God’s word. Only God knows all the good that will come from your dedication and your sacrifices. We need you now more than ever to be steadfast in your service to Jesus, our Savior. |
