| Gospel Meeting at St. Andrews Road Sunday, March 9th — Wednesday, March 12! Daylight Saving Time begins this Saturday night! Remember to “Spring Ahead” your clock one hour before you lie down to sleep on Saturday night! Give someone you love a call on Saturday night to remind them to do the same. Our Gospel Meeting has finally arrived! Brother Richard McWilliams will be with us on Sunday morning through Wednesday evening to preach God’s word: “The Words of Life.” Every lesson will encourage and challenge every Christian to greater spiritual growth in Christ. The lessons will also include a special invitation to those who have not yet made the decision to follow the path of life in Christ. Let us make every effort to be present at every session. Remember our purpose, preparation, prospects, presence, participation, and prayer as the keys to a successful meeting. Thank you for your love for Jesus, our Savior. Thank you for your dedication to show and share His love with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and with our guests from the Midlands. May God answer our prayers for a successful Gospel Meeting where every Christian is edified, and every guest is brought ever closer to a decision for Christ unto salvation (Romans 1:15-17). We’re very excited about the Men’s Fellowship at Gold Hill this Saturday, March 8th. Maybe we can exceed last year’s attendance of 577. Several of us will travel up to Rock Hill for the annual singing on Friday night and then meet up with our brothers from SAR at Gold Hill on Saturday morning. What a great privilege it is to be a Christian in South Carolina. Events like this remind us that we are not alone in our quest for righteousness and justice in our generation. Think about it! Have we been busy, or what? January – Breakout 2008 Youth Rally! February – State-wide Bible Bowl! March – Men’s Fellowship and Gospel Meeting! April – Senior Rally! Whew! I need a vacation, and its only March! Has it been only 20 months since we began our work together? Wow! In many ways I find it difficult to remember being anywhere else. South Carolina has truly become our home. May God continue to bless our efforts together! Of course, we know that He will. His promises are forever secure. In Ephesians 3 verses 20-21, we read: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” What a verse! What a promise! What a future! In all our “busy-ness” we must never forget that we are “the salt of the earth” bringing true flavor to the world, the flavor of Christ. Think of the taste of a fresh “Granny Smith” apple. Maybe you’d rather think of a ripe juicy Florida “Navel” orange. How about walking into a strawberry patch, reaching down, and picking a fresh, ripe strawberry? Can you taste it? The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. As Christians we are to share these blessings with the world. We are the “light of the world” shining into a dark sinful world giving hope to those who are searching. We are a “city set on a hill that cannot be hidden.” In our “every day living” we are to “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:13-16). |
