Our Theme for January:
Faith in God and Faithfulness to Our Commission

Wow!  What a great first Sunday in 2008 we had last week!  God will certainly  fulfill
His promises to us we show and share the love of Christ every day at home, at work,
at school, and especially in the church.

Take a look at His promises to those who give “as we have been  prospered”
(1 Corinthians 16:2).  Luke 6:38 tells us that we will receive “good measure, pressed
down, shaken together, and running over.”

Look at His promises to those who go, teach, baptize and teach (Matthew    28:19-20).
This passage reminds us that He is with us “always, even to the end of the age.”

Look at His promises to those who delight in His law and think about His law day and
night.  Psalm 1 says that these
“shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water; that
brings forth its fruit in season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does
shall prosper.
”  What a blessing!

When we sow, we will reap in due time (Galatians 6:7).  Let us commit ourselves to
sowing the good seed (God’s word) personally and publicly.

When we pray, we will receive God’s blessing according to His will (Ephesians 6:18;
James 4:15).  Let us commit ourselves to prayer now than ever before.

He promises that our study and continued faithfulness to what we learn will make
us wise for salvation in Christ (2 Timothy 3:14-15).  Let us commit ourselves to a daily
reading and thoughtful consideration of God’s word.

Every Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. and every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m., we
provide special Bible classes for every member and guest.  We are currently studying
the Book of Esther on Sunday.  On Wednesday night in the auditorium, our adults are
studying lessons directly from the Bible:  “The Deep Things of God.”  We have studied
what the Bible teaches concerning The Existence of God, The Second Coming of Christ,
The Holy Spirit, Angels, The Body, Soul, and Spirit, Satan, and Death.  This series will
continue a few more weeks as we study The Resurrection, Heaven, Hell, and The Book
of Life.  We all have questions.  God has provided the answers for us in His word, the
Bible.  After all, the strength of our faith is determined by the amount of time we spend
studying and using His word (Romans 10:17;  2 Timothy 2:15).

Our theme this month is faith and faithfulness.  On Sunday morning we will look at
three aspect of true faith: time, sacrifice, and personal commitment.  On Sunday evening
we will consider “Jesus’ Great Statements of Faith” from John 11 and the story of Jesus
raising Lazarus from the dead.

Our “Breakout 2008” Youth Rally is now only two weeks away scheduled for
Saturday, January 26th.  We have mailed out flyers to just about every  congregation
in the southeast, but we still need you to tell your family and friends about this very
special event for our youth.  Many times a personal     invitation from you and me will
do more than a thousand flyers mailed out.   Brother Craig Shackleford from Middleton,
Tennessee, will be our keynote speaker for the day.  Ben Burleson will be leading our
singing.  Registration   begins at 9:00 a.m.  Lunch will be at 12:00.  We plan on dismissing
at    3:00 p.m.  We need every St. Andrews Road member to be here to help make this day
a “day to remember” for our youth.  Thank you so much for your support and your help.

May God continue to bless us in this New Year 2008!
