Our spring Gospel Meeting has finally arrived!  We are planning for a great week of gospel preaching from
our guest evangelist, Brother  W. T. Allison, from Hamilton and  Summerdale, Alabama.  On     Sunday
morning at 10:00 a.m., we ask that our teenagers and adults meet together in the auditorium for a
combined    Bible study centered on the life of Christ.  Immediately following our worship together at 11:
00 a.m., we invite everyone to meet in the Fellowship hall for a “potluck” lunch.  Let’s make sure  we
prepare enough food, drink, and dessert for ourselves and  for our guests!  Our evening assemblies on
Sunday through    Wednesday will be at 7:30 p.m. each evening.  Please make plans to be here for every
meeting.

On Sunday and throughout the week, we will have many of our family, friends, and neighbors with  us to
hear the gospel preached.  As a member of the  St. Andrews Road congregation, make sure you  let each
of our guests know just how happy we are that they are with us.  A word of welcome from    you might
help them to see their need for the salvation that is found only in Christ Jesus.

Isn’t it great to have our newly-updated kitchen and pantry ready for this event?  A huge “Thank You”
goes out to John Dennison, Alan Larmon, and to everyone who helped in any way make this new update
a reality.   Also to the entire congregation, thank you for your generous financial gifts week   after week.
We’re  doing great!    We thank God for His rich blessings!  May we all continue to show    and share the
love of Christ every day and in every way.

This coming Tuesday, April 17th, in addition to our Gospel Meeting, we will host the regular monthly
Preachers’ and Men’s Meeting at 10:00 a.m.  Our  subject this month will be “Overcoming Hindrances
to Soul Winning” with the focus on “overcoming” rather than on “hindrances.”  Jesus was hindered in
many ways from “preaching the gospel  to the poor, healing the brokenhearted,  proclaiming liberty to
the captives, giving recovery of sight  to the blind, setting at liberty those who are  oppressed, and
proclaiming the favorable year of the Lord”  (Luke 9:18-19).   He was without honor in His own land.
He faced a stiff-necked, stubborn, jealous, envious, troublemaking people.   He was constantly
bombarded with questions that were asked to trick Him.  He preached to people who were afraid,
prejudiced, poor, sick, diseased, distressed, uneducated, and   immoral.  How did He overcome such
hindrances?  Jesus overcame through  balance of a positive mind, the ability to adjust, and through
love.  The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and continue to 12:00 noon.  Following our
meeting we will meet at Sticky Fingers Restaurant for a “dutch-treat” lunch together.  To all the men
of the church here at SAR, if you have the morning of the April 17th, open, please accept this invitation
to come and be with us.

Our state-wide Senior Rally is now only a few days away, scheduled for Saturday, April 28th.  What    a
wonderful privilege it is for me to preach three  lessons on the theme of “Paul’s Pattern For Growing
Old.”  Registration will  begin at 9:00 a.m.  We will focus our attention in God’s word on “Faith for Our
Time,” then on “Commitment,” and finally on how seniors can motivate others to a closer walk with
God.  I’ve been told that there will be no one checking birth certificates, so accept my invitation to come
and be with us for this very special  Senior Saturday at St. Andrews Road.

Remember to check our SAR website at www.sarcoc.org to stay up to date on all the activities and
resources of the church of Christ at St. Andrews Road.
