Thank you for your positive comments concerning our series of lessons entitled “Light the Fire.”
We have discussed three spiritual truths found in the miracle of the floating axe head in 1 Kings 6:1-7:
Admittance,  Acknowledgement, and Expectation.  This Sunday we will conclude this series with the
final truth, Personal Responsibility.  Elisha instructed the prophet who had lost his axe head in the
Jordon River to “Pick it up for yourself.”  We then see that the prophet simply reached out with his
hand and took it (7).

What a lesson this is for us!  Through His birth, His life and teachings, His death, burial, and resurrection,
Jesus Christ made salvation available to you, to me, and to anyone and everyone who
will “reach down and take it.”  Do you    remember our three R’s in Revelation 2?  Remember – Repent –
Return!  For the Christian who has gone away from the Christian path, remember, repent, and   return.
For one who has not yet believed and obeyed the gospel, begin your  journey with Christ today.  Simply
arise, believe in Jesus who died for you, repent of the sins that have caused so much pain and sorrow in
your life, confess Jesus as the Son of God, and be baptized in His name.  What joy awaits you in the
glorious salvation which is found only in Jesus Christ!
