South Carolina in the spring!  What a sight to behold!  Buttercups popping up all around the yard!  Trees
in full bloom!  The smell of fresh-cut grass!  Have you made the trip to the store to get your
spring lawn supplies?  Get ready for some big time hustle and bustle.  This past week I got a big case
of “spring fever.”  One day we enjoyed 82 degrees, and then two days later when I walked outside
the temperature was 25.  What happened?  Oh yeah!  We live in South Carolina!

We had a great preachers’ and men’s meeting this past Tuesday.  Our subject was God’s Pattern
for the Church.  It is our great privilege to host this meeting each month for those who desire to see
the church of Christ grow and prosper in the midlands and in the surrounding areas.  We meet every
third Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. and then go to lunch together at one of our local restaurants.

Mark your calendar for our spring Gospel Meeting with W.T. Allison which has been scheduled for Sunday
through Wednesday, April 15th-18th.  The adults and teenagers will meet on Sunday morning
at 10:00 for a combined Bible study in the auditorium.  Bible study for our children will continue as
usual on Sunday morning.  We will worship together at 11:00 with Brother Allison preaching.  On
Sunday night through Wednesday night we will meet at 7:30.  Remember!  Our service on Sunday
night will be at 7:30!

It was a great privilege to serve as part-time youth minister and part-time prison minister and as a
deacon in the church of Christ in Hamilton, Alabama, with Brother Allison as our minister way back
in the 80’s.  His daughter, Pam, introduced me to Cindi.   Brother Allison performed our wedding
ceremony a few months later.  He preached in Hamilton, Alabama, for 20 years then moved to Mobile,
Alabama,  where  he  preached  for  20 + years  at  the  Sage  Avenue,  now  the  Creekwood  church
of Christ.  He currently preaches in gospel meetings all around the southeast.  This will be his first
gospel meeting in the great state of “Smiling Faces and Beautiful Faces.”  Please make plans to show
your support for the church here at St. Andrews Road by attending every meeting.  You will be so
very glad that you did!

Our state wide Senior Rally will be here at SAR on Saturday, April 28th.  It will be a great privilege
to share three lessons from God’s word on the theme of “Paul’s Pattern for Growing Old.”

We will have a great time of fellowship together as we study together from God’s word being edified
in the most holy faith.

On Sunday we will continue in our series of lessons, “Light the Fire.”  The prophet in 2 Kings
6 had a big problem.  He lost his “cutting edge,” his axe head.  What could he do?  Well, he had to
admit the fact that he had lost what he needed to accomplish the task at hand.  It could be that
we too have lost the love and the faith that we once had.  God tells us what we must do if we find
that we have left our “first love.”  Remember what we had.  Repent.  Return to our first works.
We find this in Revelation 2:4-5.  This Sunday we will discuss the next step – Acknowledge!  Elisha
asked the prophet, “Where did you loose what you had?”

I look forward to our worship and fellowship together on the Lord’s Day!
