Thank you to every member of the St. Andrews Road church of Christ for your    commitment to the
cause of Christ in the Columbia area.  Your commitment was evident when so many (103) came early
for our first congregational meeting of the year.  Each and every day I am more thankful to be your
minister, more thankful to be a Christian, more thankful to be a member of this great congregation of
the Lord’s people.  May God bless our efforts together in the coming days as we work and   worship
together in unity of heart, soul, mind, and strength!

Last Sunday was one of our best days yet:  Elders meeting at 9:00, Bible study at 10:00, Worship
at 11:00, the drive over to Batesburg-Leesville, a 30-minute lunch, singing psalms, hymns, and
spiritual songs from 2:00 to 4:00 (We had 21 from SAR at the singing at Twin Cities. Mike Moore and
Ben Burleson represented us exceptionally well as song leaders.), our congregational meeting at
5:00, evening Worship at 6:00, fellowship (counseling and Bible study during dinner) until 9:00, and
then home again.  Whew!  What a day!

Cindi and I will be away in Arkansas and Tennessee for the next few days.  We’re taking a couple
of days to visit with our grandchildren in Arkansas on Thursday and Friday.  On Saturday we’ll drive
to Middleton, Tennessee, where I’ll be preaching on Sunday morning. (One of my best friends, Craig
Shackleford, preaches for the church there.) After worship we’ll check in to our hotel in Jackson,
Tennessee, and then drive over to Henderson for the start of the Freed- Hardeman University
Lectureships.  Monday through Thursday we have the great privilege of attending the lectures and
meeting other ministers and members of the church from all over the nation.  We plan to return home
on Friday, Lord willing.  Please pray for us as we travel.  Thank you for allowing me to be away.

In my absence Brother Darwin Cherry will be teaching our Wednesday evening Bible class in the
auditorium.  On Sunday Brother Morgan, a student currently attending the East Tennessee School of
Preaching will be preaching a special message from God’s word.  It is our great privilege to support
Brother Morgan as he continues his education as a gospel preacher.

This month’s issue of The Spiritual Sword, Volume 38, Number 2, “Pressing On” is a must read for

I look forward to every issue and read it through many times.  Every Christian should be a learner, a
doer, a giver, and then a getter.
