Thank you for your prayers for our area-wide Preachers’/Men’s Meeting this past Tuesday.  Our
subject for consideration was entitled:  “According to the Rules – The 7th Command – You shall not
commit adultery.  This subject required much prayer and study as well as strong courage.

We discussed the Problem: Sexual Immorality, Marital Unfaithfulness, and Adultery, the Prevention:
Steps to Maintaining Personal and Marital Integrity,  and the Pathway to Holiness:  Acknowledgement,
Repentance, Commitment.

It is my sincere desire to share this lesson in an  adult setting sometime in the near future  with the
men at St. Andrews Road, Lord willing.  Then, it is my desire to adjust his lesson so it can be taught to
our Christian ladies as well.  May God help us to guard our souls in Christ Jesus from the onslaught of
the enemy’s attempt to draw us away from the pathway of holiness, righteousness, and purity!

Did you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday?  We are so very blessed with riches that are beyond the
imagination of most of the people in the world.  One of my dearest friends lives in Benin,  West Africa,
as a missionary and a veterinarian to the Fon    people.  His name is Andrew Gordon.  He has been in
Benin for almost fifteen years and is married to an African native.  They have two precious children.  I
remember  the very  first  time he brought his  wife over to America to  meet his parents who lived in
Leesburg, Florida.  He took his wife, Pulcherie,  to Wal*Mart; and as he led her down the aisles, she
wept and wept.  When he asked her about her tears, she said that   although she had heard about
such riches, she never really believed that such riches actually existed.

Oh, how God has blessed you and me through His matchless grace and mercy.  As I said this past
Sunday, Thanksgiving is so much more than a day.  Gratitude, the giving of thanks, being thankful is a
lifestyle  that  every Christian  should live  every moment of  every hour of every day of every week of
every month of every  year of our lives.   Take some time to look  up at the stars,  the beautiful blue
South Carolina skies, the sunrise and the sunset and be thankful.  Take some time to look upon the
face of a little child and see such purity, such peace, such wonder.  Take some time to look upon your
husband, your wife, your child, not just toward them.  Note the details.  Magnificent!  Wonderful!  Take
some time to be thankful for your friends.  Tell them how much you appreciate them and that you love
them.  Don’t be afraid.  Before you know it, such adventures will become second nature to you.

On Sunday morning we will focus our attention on “Going a Little Farther” in our Christian walk with our
Lord, Jesus Christ.  We will look at going farther in our prayer life, in compassion for others, in our love
for one another,  and in the sacrifices we are called upon to make for Christ.   I hope you will be here
for this special lesson directly from God’s word.

On Sunday evening we will conclude our series entitled, “A Passionate Commitment to the Cause of
Christ” as we answer the third question:  How can I commit my life to Christ?  Jesus actually expects us
to count the cost of being a Christian.  He says that it is foolish to make any decision without counting
the cost.  After we count the cost, we must make a decision.  The decision we make will determine our
happiness here and more importantly our eternal destiny.

As Joshua said, “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house,
we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
