A MESSAGE FROM THE ELDERS

We are taking this opportunity to express our appreciation and gratitude to all the members of
St. Andrews Road for your spirit of zeal and excitement for the work you are doing in our congregation.
It is our individual and collective prayer that we will all continue to grow and mature in our spiritual lives.

Although there have been changes in the last year, hopefully, the changes were all for the better.  One of
the changes was when brother Mickey Burleson moved here to be our pulpit minister.  We congratulate
brother Mickey on his first-year anniversary on July 1st and thank him for his dedication
and good work.  Our prayers are for his continued strength and courage to deliver such inspiring
messages and also prayers for his good wife, Cindi, and son, Ben.

Our Lord gave His life for us.  The scriptures teach us to continually strive for improvement in our
Christian journey.  His Word will never change.  His promises will never change.  (There is no small print
at the bottom of the page.)  God said that His Word is complete, and that it will never change (Jude 3).

It’s great to hear happy and friendly voices before and after services.  Having fellowship with one
another is done through our common worship and our social exchanges.  1 John 1:7 says that our
fellowship is found in the “light.”  It is the hallmark of our fellowship at St. Andrews Road that we enjoy
being together and helping one another.

We are fortunate to have many activities at St. Andrews Road.  It seems something good is
always going on.  Here are just a few:

                Devotionals
                Special Prayer Services
                Visitation Teams
                Youth Activities
                Men’s and Ladies’ Nights Out
                Senior Rally
                Gospel Meeting
                 Ladies’ Day

Local visitor attendance is up.  They are impressed by the love they see among the members
and the glad greetings and real interest expressed to them by you.  Your warm greetings in making
our visitors welcome are “seed planting,” as are Mickey’s good sermons.  This make us grow spiritually
when we place our Christians values out for all to see.

We are happy to be adding deacons.  There is much work to do.  It is encouraging to have
qualified men such as Robert and Allen prove themselves according to the scriptures (1 Tim. 3:10)
and be willing to serve.  We need more of our young men to be willing to be involved in the work of
the church and begin qualifying themselves for this office.

It always seems that there is something going on in our busy lives; but then when is there NOT
a busy time?  Consider Matthew 6:33 daily, and always keep Christ and His Kingdom foremost in your
activities.

It is an awesome responsibility to serve this congregation as elders, and to assume leadership
of the church is sometimes overwhelming.  The elders, deacons, and our minister covet your prayers.
